One tough cookie
Our design guru Bethany, centre, is a pretty tough cookie. Beth and two friends signed up to compete in the Tough Bloke Challenge, a rope swinging, mud crawling, leg busting 6km obstacle course near Melbourne to test her strength and endurance. It seems she had what it takes to conquer the 18 hair raising obstacles.
You are obviously no weakling? I love giving something new a go. Just out to have some fun.
Were you ready for the muscle-burning obstacles? I did go shopping on the weekend before which resulted in lugging around many bags, does that count?
How did you go in the mud trenches covered with barbed wire? I did grow up on a farm, so have had plenty of practice in the muddy stockyards scrambling up fences to avoid being trampled by sheep and cows.
How did you go in damp, dark concrete tunnels? Fine, but the unexpected river because of all the rain and finishing rope were a worry.
Did you think of quitting at any point? Never. My muscles got me over the line ... just.

So you think you can dance?
Edit’s creative soul Lucy recently choreographed the dance routine featuring in the music video Cameo Lover by New Zealand artist Kimbra. The clip has been nominated for an ARIA award and also is in the running for the 'best music video' award at the prestigious industry IF Awards in Sydney mid November. We asked her a few questions about the gig.
How did you get the gig? I grew up with the Director of the clip and we used to dance around the lounge room together to The Killers!
2. How was it working with Kimbra and her crew? She is so dedicated to her work and career, it's quite inspiring! The whole crew was very down to earth, which created a great vibe on set.
Is this the first music video you have worked on? I am lucky I can say no! I have worked on all of Kimbra's clips so far, as well as a video for The Audrey's.
Do you think the video might win the ARIA award? It's up against Gotye's music video Somebody That I Used To Know, which is pretty amazing! I think that will be hard to beat.
So, do you think YOU can dance? Great show, love it! Yes, I DO like to dance.

Sarah gets animated
New gal Sarah has jumped on board the good ship Edit this year as she works towards achieving her Bachelor Communication Design Honours at Swinburne University. Sarah's first design task was to create an animation to engage folk when they visited our homepage. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better.
How many photos did it take to produce Edit Media's homepage website animation? More than 42,000 with the camera on autoshoot. These were culled to 321 photos to create the animation.
How long did it take from whoa to go? Two days planning, two days photography and a further two weeks to finalise, test and upload.
What did happen to those Jelly Babies? We had no further use for them so we ate them. Yum.
What's the name of your dog? Bella. It's my auntie's dog and she's adorable.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A little girl.

OUTBACK ADVENTURE
Edit Media's Postie gal Lucy took time off recently to participate in a community service project with Aborignal communities in outback Western Australia. We asked her a few questions about the experience.
Where have you been? To the Fitzroy Crossing in the Kimberleys, WA
Why did you go? My high school has a strong relationship with the Fitzroy Crossing community, and they have collaboratively built a Studio School for both local Aboriginal kids and Melbourne kids to attend as part of a new Industry-based-learning National Diploma of Education.
What did you do there? Hung out with the kids involved, ate fresh free range beef and bush turkey, had a helicopter ride, and strengthened my school's relationship with the community.
Did you make lots of new friends? I met some of the strongest, intelligent, driven people I have ever come across!
Where to from here? The Diploma officially starts next year, so I'll be involved in the kids progress and keeping the partnership strong and sustainable.

ELECTIVE SURGERY
Edit Media's Trevor Mattingley is recovering from surgery after an ear operation. We asked him a couple of questions about the experience.
Why did they operate? What?
Was it painful? Que?
When do you get the wadding out of your ear? Speak up.
Did they find any sense while they were in there? Can't hear you.
Will you ever be able to go to another AD/DC concert? Trick question? The alphabet goes ... ABCD ...

LEAP OF FAITH
Edit Media's Beth took a deep breath and leapt out of a plane over Hawaii. We asked her a couple of questions about the experience.
Were you scared? Signing the paperwork (20 pages of 'we take no responsibility for your death') was the scariest bit.
Did they have to push you out of the plane? No, because I didn't trust the plane we were in.
What was it like falling? Amazing! Just a huge rush, like nothing else I have experienced.
Did you hit the ground hard? Not that I can remember, we landed directly on the marker which was amazing considering I had just jumped from over 10,000 feet above.
Would you do it again? Not too sure, I would do it for the adrenaline rush and amazing memories, but I wouldn't like to test my fate again.
