Companies are increasingly turning to the internet to save time and costs communicating to shareholders.
Transurban this year took a leap of faith and engaged Edit to deliver its first ever online Security Holder Review to stakeholders.
Transurban’s 2011 Security Holder Review presents to shareholders the company’s operational and financial highlights for the financial year and reports on asset updates with information for investors in Australia and the United States.
In the past, Transurban printed, packaged and mail handled colour booklets to the company’s 50,000+ shareholders. The process took six weeks to complete following announcement of results to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
This year’s online report, titled Building Value, operates within Transurban's internal web environment leveraging existing web templates to ensure seamless operation and brand consistency.
Interactive maps embedded in the site engage users and offer factual information relevant to the company’s assets in Victoria, New South Wales and Virginia, USA. Related documents are available to visitors for download.

The site went live the same morning the results were announced to the ASX and the benefits were four-fold:
1. Significant cost savings negating the need to print and distribute the document
2. Rapid turnaround of information to market
3. Measurable environmental benefits, and
4. Less stress on internal company resources resulting in a happy customer who reports: “Great result. The website certainly is a big step forward from the old printed brochure! I think it all went as smoothly as possible so thanks again.”
